Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back World Premiere

Stars Ed Oxenbould, Elizabeth Cullen, Grant Denyer and Dan Brumm  join Brisbane International Film Festival red carpet alongside Award-Winning Brisbane Film Production Team 

Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back will hold its world premiere at the Brisbane International Film Festival on Saturday October 28 at 10am with much of its internationally renowned cast in attendance including Ed Oxenbould, Elizabeth Cullen, Grant Denyer and Dan Brumm.

The film marks the sequel to the 2020 film Combat Wombat, and is the fourth film in the Tales from Sanctuary City animated film franchise, created by Australia’s only female-led animation studio Like A Photon Creative, based in Brisbane.

Since entering the scene in 2017, Like A Photon Creative has amassed $32 million in production in Queensland and are the only Aussie independents to turn out such high volumes of animated content. Their latest film, Scarygirl, is currently showing in cinemas nation-wide, Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back is undergoing its world premiere with international cinema release to follow and they have a further four films in production and seven in development.

About the film: Sanctuary City’s caped crusader, Maggie Diggins (Deborah Mailman) and trusty Sugar Glider side-kick Sweetie (Ed Oxenbould), are faced with a new threat to Sanctuary City. Enter tech entrepreneur Lenny Glick (David Wenham) with his secret plan to permanently transport the entire city into a digital simulation, Sanctuary +. Combat Wombat, Gallant Glider, and their new friends including Skylar (Elizabeth Cullen), Reginald (Mark Coles Smith), Chief Furbank (Dan Brumm) and Grant Quokka (Grant Denyer) are thrown into investigating and called on to save Sanctuary City once again.
